Key Responsibilities
- This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
- To efficiently prepare, cook and serve high quality food with minimum wastage;
- Recommend weekly specials to Kitchen Supervisor in order to offer customer unlimited variety menu;
- To ensure proper and consistent portioning of recipes of good quality and in the right quantities in order to maintain same taste of food;
- To ensure food is correctly cling filmed, labelled and stored as per set standards;
- To update daily bulk issue sheets and maintenance of proper records related to the kitchen section;
- To ensure that the kitchen area is properly maintained and high levels of hygiene are observed at all times;
- Coordinate with Front of House section to ensure customers served efficiently;
- Oversees all kitchen activities during the shift;
- To undertake such other duties as may be determined by the Kitchen/Shift Supervisor from time to time within the general scope of post chef;
- Provide training and development opportunities for all direct reports on an ongoing basis, with a particular focus on Zambian employees
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Certificate or Diploma in Food Production/Catering
- Qualification in Culinary added advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years Kitchen experience in preparation of diverse menus

- Ability to calculate figures and amounts for variance purposes
