Jubilee Metals Reports Strong Q1 2026 Copper Production in Zambia

Jubilee Metals Achieves 65% Quarter-on-Quarter Copper Production Growth in Zambia

Zambia-focused copper producer Jubilee Metals Group has reported strong progress for the quarter ended September 30, the first quarter of its 2026 financial year, highlighting a significant improvement in copper production. CEO Leon Coetzer shared an operational and projects update for the company’s Zambian operations during the period.

Copper production reached 938 tonnes, up 65% from the previous quarter’s 568 tonnes, with operations unaffected by material power outages.

The production was primarily derived from copper concentrate produced by Roan for refining at Sable, ahead of high-grade copper ore deliveries from the Molefe mine to Sable, which began in September.

The Roan concentrator produced 917 tonnes of copper contained in concentrate from third-party acquired ore, reflecting improved performance supported by a stable power supply and consistent quality of supplied ore.

Following the expansion of Pit 2, the Molefe mine resumed ore deliveries to Sable in September, contributing 1,122 tonnes for the quarter. Production ramped up to meet the targeted 3,500 tonnes of high-grade ore for October, with further expansion expected to reach 4,500 tonnes by the end of November. The mine aims for 8,500 tonnes of high-grade ore in the next quarter, depending on seasonal rains.

Lower-grade ore (0.7% copper) continues to be stockpiled onsite, exceeding two million tonnes by the end of the quarter and growing at a rate of approximately 70,000 tonnes per month.

Jubilee achieved 215 lost-time-injury-free days during the quarter. Key growth drivers included stable production at Roan and the commencement of high-grade ore deliveries from Molefe to the Sable refinery.

Revised copper production guidance for the full year 2026 is expected to be in the range of 4,500 to 5,100 tonnes, depending on potential impacts from the rainy season.

Coetzer said:
“With both Roan and Sable processing plants now fully operational, and the Molefe open-pit copper mine successfully expanding, our copper business is stabilizing ahead of a new phase of growth.

Jubilee retains the optionality to further increase throughput through processing historical tailings and the introduction of the new Roan front-end, although these initiatives will be considered after the rainy season.”

He added:
“The focus for the remainder of the 2026 financial year remains on executing our three-pillar copper strategy, ensuring operational stability, and maintaining key priorities such as feed rate, yields, and cost control.”
