Africa: Over 3.6 Million Covid-19 Recoveries Across Continent
As of March 18, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 4,063,411 while over 5,327,320 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.
Reported deaths in Africa reached 108,684 and 3,650,546 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases – 1,532,497 – and 51,634 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 490,088 ), Tunisia ( 243,439 ), Egypt ( 192,840 ), Ethiopia ( 179,812 ), and Nigeria ( 161,261 ).
The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
