Andrada Mining Extends Namibia’s Lithium Ridge Mineralisation to 9km, Identifies High-Grade Lithium, Tin and Tantalum
Aim-listed Andrada Mining has extended the identified surface mineralisation at its Lithium Ridge project in Namibia by 50% to 9 km following the completion of a licence-wide sampling programme.
The company said the programme identified high-grade lithium, tin and tantalum anomalies across multiple previously identified pegmatites within the project’s licence area.
The results build on earlier findings that confirmed mineralisation along the main Lithium Ridge trend.
Several grab samples returned lithium oxide grades above 3.5%, accompanied by significant tin and tantalum anomalies.
Tin grades reached as high as 7.38%, while tantalum grades were recorded at up to 3,192 g/t.
The sampling programme identified approximately 1,500 outcropping pegmatites through satellite and aerial imagery.
From these, Andrada collected 1,230 grab samples to establish a comprehensive geochemical database covering the pegmatites across the Lithium Ridge project area.
The company said the findings have expanded its understanding of the scale and mineralisation potential of the project, with additional mineralised pegmatites identified beyond the main Lithium Ridge trend.
Meanwhile, Andrada has completed Stage 1 of its drilling programme, which comprised approximately 16,500 m of oriented diamond drilling.
The programme, completed in May, targeted most of the mineralised pegmatites identified through the mapping and grab sampling campaigns.
Samples from the drilling programme are currently being dispatched for laboratory analysis. Andrada said it will provide further updates as assay results become available.
Andrada Mining CEO Anthony Viljoen said the completion of the licence-wide surface sampling programme represented an important milestone in the company’s evaluation of Lithium Ridge.
“The results extend the identified mineralised trend by an additional 3 km and confirm high-grade lithium mineralisation across multiple new pegmatites, together with significant associated tin and tantalum mineralisation,” Viljoen said.
He added that the latest findings complement encouraging diamond drilling results reported to date, which have demonstrated lithium mineralisation from surface to borehole depth and improved the company’s understanding of the scale and continuity of the broader pegmatite system.
“The identification of additional mineralised pegmatites beyond the principal trend further highlights the exploration potential that remains across the licence area,” Viljoen said.
