Andrada Mining Completes Second Jig Plant at Uis Mine to Boost Tin Output

Andrada Mining Doubles Down on Tin Growth with New Jig Plant at Uis Mine, Namibia

London-listed Andrada Mining has successfully completed construction of the second jig (processing) plant at its flagship Uis tin mine in Namibia, delivering the project on time and within budget.

Commissioning of the new plant will begin in the final week of August, paving the way for a substantial increase in tin production through the added processing capacity.

“The completion of the jig plant on time and within budget is a smart, low-cost upgrade that will immediately boost Uis tin production once commissioning is complete.

This milestone brings us closer to doubling production and positions Andrada to fully benefit from the robust and strengthening tin market,” said CEO Anthony Viljoen.

Key Features of the Jig Plant

Scalable, modular design: The plant operates independently while allowing for future expansion, ensuring continuous operation at the main processing facility.

Nameplate capacity: 80–100 tonnes per hour, with the ability to process up to 40,000 tonnes of ore per month.

Expected recovery rate: Approximately 70%, subject to confirmation during commissioning.

Feedstock & Supply Agreements

Initial ore feed will come from Uis proximal pegmatites with tin grades ranging between 0.14% and 0.3%, as well as existing stockpiles.

Additionally, Andrada has secured an ore supply agreement with Goantagab Mining, which will deliver up to 20,000 tonnes of ore at a higher grade of 1.5% tin, strengthening feedstock security and enhancing production potential.
