ARSP Set to Release Recommended Subcontractors for TFM Major Contracts

The Regulatory Authority for Private Sector Outsourcing (ARSP) plans to publish, within the next few hours, the list of companies recommended for major markets within Tenke Fungurume.
The announcement was made at the end of a working session between managers of the mining company TFM and the Director General of ARSP.

Miguel Kashal also had a fruitful “conference call” with the majority shareholder of the China Molybdenum Company (CMOC) Group to which the TFM company belongs.

“I personally had a conference with the majority shareholder of the CMOC Group whom I congratulate for its spirit of openness and collaboration.

The moment the Congolese have been waiting for has arrived. We have agreed on the recommendations that will be made, subcontractors by sector of activity and also on major markets including the supply of reagents, construction and other supplies.

These are goods and services that make the mine work, that’s even the value chain. », declared the Director General of ARSP just after his working session with the PCA of TFM, Wang Qan.

And added: “We have done work with the FEC, we have already done work with other corporations, we will put in front the large subcontractors who will operate the mine and who, in turn, will sub-contract treat others who go up to keep the mine running smoothly.

Because when we reached the level where the ARSP, under the vision of the Head of State, has created these opportunities and it will continue to create them. Rome wasn’t built in a single day, it’s a process and we’re going to get there. », concluded General Manager Miguel Kashal Katemb.

For his part, the TFM CEO declared himself satisfied with the working session with the Director General of the ARSP.

“The Director General of ARSP greatly appreciates the efforts that TFM has made in the area of application of the law on subcontracting.

He gave us advice on the future of our company and TFM promised to strictly adhere to the implementation of the law on subcontracting under the direction of ARSP.

Our company will be open and transparent and active in collaborating with the ARSP to improve the work in this area of subcontracting. The subcontractors recommended by ARSP, we believe that they are all qualified and will be welcome to work with us and contribute to local development.

We greatly appreciate the President of the Republic’s strategy for the development of the middle class and the national economy. », indicated the head of TFM.

Remember that TFM is a company with enormous deposits of copper and cobalt. It is located in the province of Lualaba.

Several other companies belonging to large multinational groups have promised to accept the entrepreneurs’ recommendations made by the ARSP.
