Sweden’s Sandvik plans to acquire US-based Computer Aided Manufacturing software company CNC Software. As of August 27, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 7,660,025 while over 61,914,095 vaccinations have been administered across the continent. Reported deaths in Africa reached 192,563 and  6,758,734 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases 2,734,973 and 80,826 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (836,494), Tunisia (651,035), Libya (302,177), Ethiopia (301,713), Egypt (287,159) and Kenya (232,869). The Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC’s) government is reviewing its $6-billion “infrastructure-for-minerals” deal with Chinese investors as part of a broader examination of mining contracts, Finance Minister Nicolas Kazadi told Reuters. Sweden’s Sandvik said on Wednesday it had set new financial targets for its business segment Manufacturing Solutions, lifting the unit’s goal for sales in the wake of several recent acquisitions.
