Bahati Lukwebo has responded to allegations spread on social media about his alleged cases in the mining sector. Messages circulating on several digital platforms attributed by the company Régal Mining to the current President of the Senate.
“On social networks, there are those who are busy waging war against political opponents. I read what was written on Régal Mining. I don’t know Régal Mining. I salute the mission that has been delegated in the province of South Kivu, in the territory of Mwenga, ”said Modeste Bahati Lukwebo during a press conference organized this Tuesday in Kinshasa.
And to add:
“I made inquiries and saw that this company has a certain Jean-Claude Damseau as a partner. I am not in the mines. I do agriculture, animal husbandry, hospitality, transport. I take care of it when I’m not in business in politics. While I am in business, I delegate ”.
He affirms that he only owns the building which houses the Régal supply, which they no longer have is linked to Régal Mining.
“Some people are confused when they see my building in the town of Gombe. And as Régal Alimentation is written on the building, some people are confused, but it is about tenants. They are free to give the name they want. It has nothing to do with me. I only own the building. People are looking for problems, but we are already seasoned ”.
The mining sector in the province of South Kivu has been in the headlines for several weeks. Eight national deputies were dispatched by the National Assembly to the site to collect information on the illegal exploitation of minerals by Chinese companies, particularly in the territory of Mwenga.
