Kamoa-Kakula achieves another monthly development record

Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN; OTCQX: IVPAF) announced on Monday that the underground development at the Kamoa-Kakula copper project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) totalled 2,172 metres in October, a new monthly record. The result brings total underground development to 24.7 kilometres – approximately 7.9 kilometres ahead of schedule. According to Ivanhoe, mining crews produced a combined 194,000 tonnes of ore in October from the Kakula and Kansoko mines, which was 48% higher than achieved in September. The project’s pre-production surface stockpiles now contain approximately one million tonnes of high-grade and medium-grade ore at an estimated grade… Read More Here

Castillo Copper confirms eight priority targets at its Mkushi project

LSE and ASX-listed base metal explorer Castillo Copper has confirmed eight priority targets at its 100% owned Mkushi project in Zambia’s copper-belt following its recently completed systematic infillsoil sampling campaign. The campaign, which comprised 702 infill samples analysed using a portable XRF analyser, was conducted to reduce the spacing between samples and lines and derive a better understanding of copper anomalism apparent within the tenure boundaries.   Including previous work, some 1 899 samples have been collected across two campaigns. The Mkushi project contiguously surrounds an operating open-pit copper mine in a… Read More Here

Drill results confirm Fwiji as a major target, says Arc Minerals | Zambia

Aim-listed Arc Minerals has announced the first set of assay results from the laboratory confirming the presence of near-surface copper mineralisation at the Fwiji prospect, in Zambia. The first Fwiji drill results have confirmed significant mineralisation, the company notes. High-grade sulphide mineralisation has been intersected. Arc noted good thicknesses and grades including the highest-ever 7% copper grade intersection. Visual appraisal of the subsequent holes has confirmed further mineralisation at Fwiji. “The initial drilling results at the Fwiji prospect have once again surpassed our expectations with evidence of significant sulphide and oxide mineralisation and, more importantly, showing… Read More Here
