Cobalt Prices Surge, Expected to Reach $34,247.00 per Tonne This Week in DRC
Since its sudden fall in July 2022, cobalt has struggled to regain its best level on the international mining product markets.
The forecasts of the National Mercurial Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Trade for the period from Monday 8 to Saturday, May 13, 2023 indicate that the tonne of cobalt should increase slightly to 34,247.00 USD against 34,244.00 USD per tonne a week earlier.
Gold is also expected to see a slight rise in price this week from USD 64.47 to USD 64.51 in international markets over the same period.
According to Congolese experts in the field, the general trend of mining products exported from the Democratic Republic of Congo will be downward during the period under analysis.
According to these specialists, copper, zinc, tin and tantalum will experience a decline on the international markets and will trade respectively at 8,532.65 USD against 8,710.20 USD per ton; 2,678.85 USD per ton against 2,638.90 USD per ton; at $26,427.50 vs. $26,867.50 and $405.00 vs. $408.75 per kilogram.
The National Mercurial Commission notes that the silver gram should remain unchanged (stable) at 0.80 USD this week on the international markets.
