CopperCopper Covid-19 Mining in DRC 

Despite COVID-19 Pandemic, DRC produced 1.186 million tonnes of copper in 9 months, up by 13% from the same period in 2019

Mining companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo produced 1 million 186,046 tonnes of copper in the first 9 months of 2020 compared to 1 million 43,414 tonnes in the same period in 2019, an increase of 13.66%, according to data provided by the Central Bank of Congo.

During the 9 months, the monthly production peak was recorded in June with 148,682 tonnes of copper produced.

For the full year 2019, the mining industry of the Democratic Republic of Congo produced 1 million 420. 386 tonnes, the record for the last two decades, against 1 million 225,227 tonnes in 2018 and 1 million 094,638 tonnes in 2017 .
