DRC Copper, Tin, and Zinc Prices Decline While Cobalt, Gold, and Germanium See Gains
DRC Mining Exports: Copper, Tin, and Zinc Prices Show Mixed Trends in Early September 2025
Mining exports from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are showing mixed trends for the period of September 1–6, 2025, according to the latest price lists published on Monday.
Copper and tin, two of the country’s key mining products, have shown slight declines in early September, continuing a trend observed since early August.
Copper is trading at USD 9,656.95 per ton, up marginally from USD 9,621.90 last week. Tin, meanwhile, is slightly lower at USD 33,801.00 per ton, down from USD 33,838.40 the previous week, despite recent gains on the international market.
Zinc prices have also continued their downward trend, falling to USD 2,773.55 per ton, compared to USD 2,788.15 last week.
On the other hand, several commodities have seen price increases. Cobalt rose slightly from USD 32,643.00 to USD 32,650.00 per ton, maintaining an upward trajectory since last month after being stable in July.
Gold increased from USD 108.10 to USD 108.71 per gram, while silver edged up from USD 1.23 to USD 1.24 per gram. Germanium continues its upward trend, trading at USD 4,108.08, up from USD 3,864.60 last week.
Other minerals showed mixed performance:
Nickel declined slightly from USD 13,297.91 to USD 13,180.61 per ton.
Tantalum fell to USD 324 per ton, down from USD 320 last week.
Niobium concentrate remained largely stable at USD 5,633.04 per ton, compared to USD 5,640.88 previously.
These fluctuations reflect ongoing global market dynamics and the strong role the DRC plays as a key supplier of strategic minerals such as copper, cobalt, and tin.
