The Democratic Republic of the Congo experiences a decline in both diamond production and exports between 2016 and 2020.

Data provided by the Ministry of Mines indicates that income from diamond exports has halved over the past five years, falling from 14 million 746 354.23 carats exported to a value of 229 million USD 299,054.88 during the last five years. year 2016 at a volume of 12 million 214,439.11 carats exported in 2020 for a value of 113 million 435,695.26 USD.

Likewise, there is a decrease in production volumes, which fell from 15 million 559,447.19 carats produced in 2016 to 12 million 944,244.71 carats produced in 2020.

During the last five years, the peak of diamond production was reached in 2017 with a volume of 18 million 902,763.56 carats produced in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
