DRC Establishes Congolese Council for Battery in the Race for Clean Energy Production
The draft decree establishing the creation, organization, and functioning of the Congolese Council for Battery (CCB) was adopted during the 71st meeting of the Council of Ministers
The Congolese Council for Battery has its new Board of Directors. Félix Tshisekedi appointed Gérôme Mungomba as the Chairman of the Board of this new strategic institution in a presidential decree.
The Congolese Council for Battery provides the technical elements necessary to the government to ensure the supply chain of minerals that go into the production of batteries.
”The Congolese Council for Battery will collaborate with Battery Councils of other states based on cooperation agreements between those states and the DRC,” according to a report from a meeting in September 2022.
The draft decree establishing the creation, organization, and functioning of the Congolese Council for Battery (CCB) was adopted during the 71st meeting of the Council of Ministers. Presented by the Ministry of Industry, Julien Paluku, who noted that the Congolese Council for Battery is the technical structure responsible for monitoring and evaluating the materialization of Félix Tshisekedi’s commitments in the context of the execution of these ambitious projects of the competitive value chain of electric batteries.
