DRC: Félix Tshisekedi chaired the launch ceremony for calls for tenders for 27 oil and 3 gas blocks
The Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi, chaired, this Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the KEMESHA space in Kinshasa, the solemn ceremony to launch calls for tenders for the 27 oil blocks and 3 gas from Lake Kivu.
This launch of calls for tenders (LOA) on the oil (BP) and gas (BG) blocks of the Democratic Republic of Congo will undoubtedly propel the giant to the heart of the African continent in the privileged circle of oil producing and exporting countries.
Of the 32 blocks initially pre-selected, 16 oil tankers have been selected for the first phase in three sedimentary basins available to our country, thanks to calls for tenders for the allocation of hydrocarbon rights, the launch of which is scheduled for July 28, 2022.
In order to maximize the opportunity for the country within the framework of this process, the government has exercised the option of launching calls for tenders for this first phase on 30 blocks, including 26 oil and 3 gas.
Studies have revealed that these blocks extend from East to West and according to an assessment by some experts, the expected revenues from this operation are estimated, at the very least, at some 300 billion US dollars.
Such a jackpot will boost all ongoing development initiatives such as the development program for 145 territories.
