DRC Mining Week 2026 Set to Spotlight Critical Minerals and Investment Opportunities
DRC Mining Week 2026 in Lubumbashi to Unite 16,500 Global Mining Leaders Around Critical Minerals and Energy Transition
From 17 to 19 June 2026, mining stakeholders from across the globe will convene at the Karavia Hotel in Lubumbashi for DRC Mining Week 2026.
Organisers expect more than 16,500 participants from over 51 countries, reaffirming the event’s status as the largest mining and infrastructure platform in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the wider Copperbelt region.
Theme: From Local Player to Global Critical Minerals Hub
Held under the theme “The DRC’s Transition: From Local Player to Global Hub for Critical Minerals,” this year’s edition will examine the country’s evolving role in global supply chains.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is central to global demand for critical minerals, particularly copper and cobalt key inputs in electric vehicles, renewable energy systems and battery storage technologies.
With major infrastructure projects, expanding special economic zones, regulatory reforms and growing international partnerships, the development of the Lobito Corridor is seen as a transformative opportunity for investors, operators, service providers and commodity buyers.
Pre-Conference and Site Visit
A pre-conference programme on 16 June will feature a Forum on Energy Investments and a dedicated session on energy sector opportunities in the DRC.
Discussions will focus on addressing power deficits, overcoming infrastructure bottlenecks and developing sustainable energy solutions to support mining expansion.
Participants will also have the opportunity to attend a site visit to Kamoa Copper SA, offering first-hand insight into one of the world’s premier copper mining operations.
Conference Programme Highlights
Day One – 17 June
The conference opens with a session dedicated to artisanal and small-scale mining, followed by official opening remarks and high-level engagements.
Day Two – 18 June
The morning will host a Value Chain Investment Forum aimed at strengthening local beneficiation and industrial development. In the afternoon, delegates will participate in a direct meeting with the Minister of Mines, followed by an invitation-only CEO Business Forum.
Day Three – 19 June
The final day will focus on regional integration, beginning with an Ambassadors’ Forum. A direct engagement with the Minister of Finance will take place in the afternoon, before the event concludes with a closing ceremony and the adoption of key recommendations.
Business Networking Opportunities
Organisers encourage participants to schedule meetings in advance to maximise networking opportunities and secure strategic partnerships before the event begins.

DRC Mining Week 2026 is positioned to shape the next phase of the country’s mining agenda, reinforcing its ambition to move from a domestic producer to a globally competitive critical minerals hub.
