DRC’s 2022 Tin Export Surge,32,000 Tons Sold for $428.8 Million
Tin exports in 2022 are valued at 32,854 tons for an estimated market value of USD 428.8 million, according to statistics from the Ministry of Mines of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Of this volume of tin exported, 24,307 tons come from industrial exploitation and generated revenues of around 318.9 million USD.
As for the artisanal exploitation, it exported 8,546 tons bringing in 109.8 million USD during the year 2022.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, tin is produced in the two Kivus, in Maniema and in Katanga.
Among the companies operating in tin mining there are Alphamines, SMB, SAKIMA, CHEMAF, MMR, COPROCO and CROWN MINING.
Alphamines remains the largest tin producer in the DRC with 22,681 tons exported in 2022 for a value of 296.7 million USD.
