DRC’s top three in copper exports for the first half of 2020 | KCC, TFM, SICOMINES
During the first half of 2020, the Democratic Republic of the Congo sold a total of 789,793 tonnes of metal copper and 38,816 tonnes of cobalt of which 761,230 tonnes and 37,990 tonnes were exported by the country’s mining industry.
Among the companies that exported the most cathode copper in the first half of the year, the trio is made up of KCC (Katanga Copper Company) with 124,295.96 tonnes, TFM (Tenke Fungurume Mining) with 102,515.70 tonnes and SICOMINES with 40,799 , 40 tons.
The other exporters are CDM with 38,114.15 tonnes, METALKOL with 36,415.90 tonnes, MMG with 36,543.27 or even SM DEZIWA with 31,431.10 tonnes.
Gécamines, which is the Congolese state mining company, exported barely 5,536.69 tonnes of copper in the first half of 2020.
During this period, the Ministry of Mines recovered 482 million USD 111,023.22 in direct and indicts taxes, customs duties and state revenues and participation from the mining industry in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, according to statistics officials of this ministry.
The Ministry of Mines identifies 34 mining companies producing copper in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
