Dubai based Novadaya Group in talks to revamp Kisenge Manganese Company in DRC
The members of the company Group Navodaya had an audience with the Minister of Mines, Antoinette N’SAMBA KALAMBAYI.
The members of the Navodaya Group were received this Monday, August 23, 2021, by the Minister of Mines, Antoinette N’Samba Kalambayi. This company, which is based in Dubai and operates in the mining sector. The company has already carried out several activities in Africa, particularly in Côte d’Ivoire, and in Gabon, where they have refined their actions and expertise. It is out of this perspective that it now seeks to intensify its actions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, through the Kisenge-Manganese Company.
At the end of this hearing, Me Taty Miessi Nkweyi, business lawyer, specified that “the objective is to be able to finance and relaunch the state company Kisenge-Manganese.” Navodaya DMCC has full information about the company – Kisenge Manganese, which has been out of business for many years.
With its financial and technical capacities, Navodaya is not only likely to provide the necessary funds, but also its support for the equipment and expertise, in order to relaunch this company based on a “public and private” partnership contract.
Committed to respect the laws in the DRC mining sector, the Minister of Mines, Antoinette N’Samba, instructed them to follow the Code and Regulations, which govern the mining sector. Satisfied with the Directives issued by the Minister to them, the spokesperson for Navodaya resolved to fully comply and demonstrate the commitments made.
“His Excellency was quite clear on the subject, and insisted on respecting the Mining Code, prove the capabilities. Navodaya must demonstrate this by submitting a complete, exhaustive and fairly clear file, which attests to their capabilities to work in this field, so as to avoid falling into the category of all those who come as charlatans. They negotiate and then disappear,” he said.
This Navodaya-Kisenge Manganese partnership can take many forms, she stresses; but for now, it was just a contact.
Then, Mr. Taty Miessi concluded by noting that, “the discussions can proceed in this manner. The two parties would agree on a mode of a partnership, which must be a win-win, that is to say, beneficial to both sides.” He added, “The guarantee is given only in accordance with the Mining Code and Regulations, which is required by Congolese legislation. And Navodaya must reassures us that things will be fine,” he said.
We hope that with this momentum, Kisenge-Manganese, the country’s major mining company, will put on its most beautiful dress of yesteryear.
