Economic Activity Better In 2022, Production Is Up In Several Sectors-DRC
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is having a good year 2022 economically. According to statistical data from the Central Bank of Congo, the DRC is recording an increase in production in several vital economic sectors.
In the mining sector for example, for the first time the mining industry achieves a copper production volume exceeding the 2 million ton mark. The same is true for cobalt, the DRC produced more than 104,000 tonnes in 11 months this year, exceeding production for the whole of 2021.
There is also an increase in production in diamond mining. This year, the diamond sector claims a production of 16.6 million carats of diamond in 11 months against 13 million carats for the whole year 2021.
In the export agricultural production sector, we also observe that the production of logs and sawn timber are up compared to last year. This is also the case for the production of palm oil, palm kernel oil or even rubber.
In manufacturing, the production of wheat flour, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are also up this year compared to the same period in 2021.
