Félix Tshisekedi Enhances Bilateral Relations during Qatar Visit
Félix Tshisekedi embarked on a two-day working visit to Doha, Qatar, on Monday, aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between Qatar and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) across various areas of mutual interest.
Upon arrival, the Congolese president received a warm welcome from Dr. Ahmad bin Hassen Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Valerie Lusamba Kabeya, Ambassador of the DRC to Qatar.
During the first day of his mission, President Tshisekedi visited the DRC embassy in Doha, where he engaged with the diplomatic staff and members of the Congolese community residing in Qatar.
Simultaneously, high-level meetings occurred between officials from both nations. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry, met with Christophe Lutundula Apala, Congolese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions centered on mutual interests and strategies to fortify bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and industrial production sectors.
The Qatari Minister elaborated on Qatar’s economic policies designed to bolster the private sector, highlighting available incentives, legislation, and investment opportunities for foreign investors.
Another significant meeting unfolded between the Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, Qatari Minister of Transport.
Talks revolved around bilateral relations in transportation, port services, and civil aviation, emphasizing avenues for enhancing and expanding these connections.
