Léon Ntumba to head SADC’s Permanent Commission on Agriculture and Natural Resources

André Léon Ntumba Mukendi said in an interview that during his tenure, he will be active in the management of the commission of which he is now the principal as recommended by the forum’s internal regulations.

The DRC now has a representative at the Parliamentary Forum of the Southern African Community (SADC), the national MP, André Léon Ntumba Mukendi who will now chair the Sadc Standing Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources.

He was elected on 10 July 2020 by video conference by his African peers from SADC member countries.

He will be assisted by his fellow Member of Parliament from Lesotho.

André Léon Ntumba Mukendi said in an interview that during his tenure, he will be active in managing the management of the commission, of which he is now the principal officiating as recommended by the forum’s internal regulations.

As a reminder, the SADC is an independent organisation in which each member country is represented by its electoral management body.

One of its mandates is to strengthen cooperation between the electoral commissions of the member countries.
