President Hichilema to Lead 2025 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka on Sustainable Mining and Local Content
Minister of Mines and Mineral Development, Paul Kabuswe, has announced that President Hakainde Hichilema will officiate at the 2025 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka, set to take place from 7th to 10th October 2025.
Speaking at a press briefing ahead of the event, Minister Kabuswe described this year’s Insaka as a pivotal moment for Zambia as it strengthens its position as a trusted and responsible mining investment destination.
The event will be held under the theme: “Unlocking Africa’s Wealth: Advancing Sustainable Mining, Beneficiation, and Value Addition.” Kabuswe emphasized that the theme reflects Zambia’s vision of transforming its mineral wealth into lasting economic and social benefits for its people.
He noted that the second edition of the Insaka builds on the success of the inaugural event in 2024, which established a vital platform for dialogue among government officials, investors, industry leaders, and local communities.
In addition, Minister Kabuswe revealed that the Local Content Bill is nearly complete, with 99 percent of the work finalized. The bill is designed to enhance local participation in the mining value chain, ensuring Zambians derive greater benefits from the country’s mineral resources.
The 2025 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka, running from 6th to 10th October, will bring together stakeholders to discuss strategies for sustainable mining, value addition, and economic growth.
