Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Urges Congolese Diaspora to Support National Development
Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka has called on the Congolese diaspora to play an active role in the development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
During her visit to Brussels, she emphasized the importance of integrating the concerns of expatriates into national public policies.
“I left Belgium 27 years ago, and I never imagined that I would one day return as Prime Minister. This sentiment resonates with many. While some may view this role as an honor or a source of pride, for me, it is a heavy responsibility.
I am counting on everyone’s contribution to help me fulfill this task. It is invaluable to engage with you, who possess an external perspective on our country’s situation.
I want to hear your opinions, feelings, and suggestions on how we can improve,” Judith Suminwa Tuluka stated in front of the Congolese community in Belgium.
Members of the Congolese diaspora in Belgium expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister’s willingness to meet with them. Among the attendees, artists voiced their readiness to return to Congo to contribute their talents to the nation’s development.
“The presence of Her Excellency, the Prime Minister, here today reflects her commitment to contributing to Congo’s development.
As a collective of artists from the Democratic Republic of Congo, we have gathered here in Belgium to advocate for culture not to be sidelined in the nation’s development agenda.
On the contrary, culture has the potential to significantly enhance Congo’s wealth. We emphasized that, with our accumulated experience, we are prepared to return home to share our knowledge and skills,” affirmed artist Barli Baruti.
