Public Health Superintendent | Mining Careers at FQM, Solwezi

Reporting to the Manager, Health and Wellness, this role will focus on managing all aspects of workplace public health and community health. The role includes:

• Engage and build relationships with local stakeholders including traditional authorities and village leadership, public health authorities at the province and district.
• Review current workplace and community health programmes and advise on revise strategy etc.
• Implement, maintain, coordinate and monitor all Health Promotions activities on and off site:
  • HIV/Aids
  • Malaria
  • Tuberculosis
  • Sexually transmitted disease
  • Water and sanitation
  • Non communicable disease
  • GLOW program
  • Community health programs
• Develop effective monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Provide data for health surveys.
• Provide support to the rural health centres.

The profile of the candidate should include the following:

• Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Post graduate health qualification, ideally a Master’s in Public Health or epidemiology, from a recognized faculty.
  • Management qualifications are useful, but not essential.
  • Have attended courses/workshops on Malaria, HIV and TB.

• Experience
  • Working in mining, energy or the infrastructure sector would be highly desirable.
  • Managing a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of health strategies.
  • Managing behavior change.
  • Experience in supporting community response to Covid-19.
  • Proven experience in engaging and developing relationships with government authorities or NGO stakeholders
