Rome Resources Launches Airborne Survey to Expand Tin Exploration at Bisie North
Rome Resources Begins Airborne Geophysical Survey at High-Grade Bisie North Tin Project in DRC
Rome Resources has commenced an extensive airborne geophysical survey across the greater Bisie tin district in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where its high-grade Bisie North tin project is located.
The survey is part of a wider regional geophysical data acquisition programme being carried out across neighbouring exploration areas within the district, which hosts some of the world’s most significant tin mineralisation.
More than 600 kilometres of helicopter-borne geophysical data will be collected for Rome Resources by Geotech using 100-metre line spacing.
The programme will utilise advanced full waveform time-domain electromagnetic technology together with a caesium magnetometer to improve geological targeting and mapping accuracy.
The survey will cover the company’s two licence areas and is expected to assist in correlating geophysical anomalies identified on Rome Resources’ ground with those associated with nearby producing tin operations.
In addition to refining existing exploration models, the programme aims to identify and prioritise new tin exploration targets while improving the understanding of the tin-bearing granite contact located south of the company’s licence areas.
Pre-survey flight testing began in the southern section of the project area on May 11, with surveying over Rome Resources’ licences expected to commence later in May.
Chief Executive Officer Paul Barrett said the survey marks an important milestone in expanding the company’s understanding of the broader Bisie mineralisation system.
According to Barrett, the geophysical programme, combined with assay results from the recently completed drilling campaign at Kalayi and an upcoming updated mineral resource estimate, is expected to provide key technical data for the next phase of drilling at both Kalayi and Mont Agoma.
He added that the results would also support the company’s broader exploration strategy across its licence areas as it continues to evaluate the long-term potential of the Bisie North project.
