SNEL Intensifies Efforts to Strengthen Electricity Supply Across Kinshasa
SNEL Accelerates Power Grid Modernization in Kinshasa With New 75 MVA Infrastructure Project
Teams from the National Electricity Company, SNEL SA, continue to work around the clock to improve electricity supply and strengthen the power grid across several neighborhoods of Kinshasa.
Technicians, engineers, and operational managers remain fully mobilized to modernize infrastructure and deliver more reliable service to the population.
As part of ongoing efforts to monitor and accelerate electrical infrastructure modernization projects, the Director General of SNEL SA, Teddy Lwamba, deployed a high-level delegation composed of the Director of Distribution for Kinshasa and several members of his cabinet to inspect work being carried out in the field.
The mission began in the Binza Pigeon district, where technical teams are conducting strategic interventions on power lines aimed at reinforcing network stability and reducing the risk of service disruptions affecting subscribers in the area.
During the visit, the delegation evaluated the progress of the works and encouraged field teams to maintain the pace of implementation in order to meet the planned completion deadlines.
The inspection tour continued at the RTNC Broadcasting Center in Téléconsult, a strategic facility requiring a stable and secure electricity supply.
SNEL officials assessed the reliability of the systems installed to guarantee uninterrupted service at the site.
The field visit also provided an opportunity to announce a major development for several communities in Kinshasa.
Residents of Binza UPN, Binza Pigeon, Météo, and neighboring areas are expected to benefit soon from a new power line connected to a 75 MVA transformer currently being installed at the Makala High Voltage Substation in the commune of Bumbu.
Installation work on this high-capacity infrastructure is already underway and is expected to be completed within the coming weeks.
Once operational, the new equipment will significantly strengthen the electricity network, improve service quality, and help meet the growing demand for power from subscribers.
Through its sustained field operations and infrastructure investments, SNEL SA reaffirms its commitment to modernizing the national electricity network, expanding access to reliable energy, and providing customers with more efficient and stable electricity services.
