Tertiary Minerals Appoints Lorenz Werndle to Board as Donald McAlister Steps Down
Tertiary Minerals has appointed Lorenz Werndle as an independent Non-Executive Director, strengthening its board as the mineral exploration company advances its portfolio in southern Africa and other key markets.
Werndle joins the board with immediate effect and will replace Donald McAlister, who is stepping down on 4 August 2026 after more than 25 years with the company due to other full-time work commitments.
Werndle currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Kavango Resources and brings extensive experience in finance, corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions, particularly within the mining sector and southern Africa.
At Tertiary Minerals, he will also chair the Audit and Risk Committee, adding financial and strategic expertise to the company’s board oversight.
The appointment comes as Tertiary continues to advance its exploration portfolio, with a particular focus on precious and energy-transition metals.
The company has exploration interests in Zambia, Nevada in the United States and Sweden.
Tertiary has been advancing exploration in Zambia, including its Mushima North project, where recent drilling has formed part of efforts to assess the region’s mineral potential.
The company thanked McAlister for his long-standing contribution to the business and welcomed Werndle as it continues to strengthen its exploration and development strategy.
The board change represents another step in Tertiary Minerals’ broader evolution as it seeks to advance its mineral projects and create value from its exploration portfolio.
