The price of a tonne of copper falls below the USD 8,000 mark this week
The price of copper is expected to fall this week in the international market after recording several weeks of breakthrough.
According to projections from the Ministry of Foreign Trade’s National Market Price Commission, copper is expected to trade at USD 7,784.90 per tonne this week compared to USD 8,001 per tonne last week, a negative price differential of 216 .1 USD.
The note from the experts of the Congolese Government’s National Commission for Market Prices informs that the general trend of the main mining export products of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) should experience a drop in price on the international market for the period from 26 September to October 1, 2022.
According to the same document, only silver ore should show an upward trend in the market this week. It is expected to trade around $0.63 per gram from $0.61 per gram the previous week, a price increase of $0.02 recorded.
Cobalt should also see a slight drop in price this week to 51,265 USD per ton against 51,267 USD per ton last week, a drop of 2 USD.
Zinc is expected to be down this week at $3,164.85 per ton from $3,238.7 per ton the previous week, posting a decline of $73.85.
Tin also fell this week to 21,426 USD per tonne against 21,679 USD per tonne last week, a negative price difference of 53 USD.
Similarly, gold is trading lower this week at $54.21 per gram from $55.61 per gram last week, down $1.4.
Tantalum shows a downward trend this week at 380 USD per Kg against 392 USD per Kg last week, i.e. a price down by 12 USD.
