Tshisekedi Outlines Second Term Priorities to the Congolese Diaspora in Paris

This Wednesday in Paris, at the end of his stay in France, President Félix Tshisekedi, accompanied by the distinguished First Lady Denise Nyakeru, met with the Congolese diaspora based in France.

At the outset, the Head of State thanked his compatriots abroad who massively voted for him in the December 2023 presidential election.

In front of his compatriots, President Tshisekedi presented the six priorities of his governance over the next 5 years. These include “job creation, security, improved purchasing power, diversification of the economy, access to basic services and modernization of the country.”

“We need to promote local production to revive our import-based economy,” the Head of State said.

On this occasion, the Head of State presented to the Congolese of France his ambitious local development program for the 145 territories supposed to reduce the disparities between rural and urban centers.

On the subject of insecurity in the east of the country, the Head of State appealed for unity. “It is important that we remain united and I invite you to denounce compatriots who play into the hands of the enemy,” he said.

This meeting in Paris also allowed the President of the Republic to respond directly to his diaspora on the issue of dual nationality.

“The issue of dual nationality will be resolved during my second term,” the Head of State concluded.
