Zambian Chief Urges Govt Action on Mineral Exploration

Chief NDAKE of Nyimba District has urged the government to accelerate mineral exploration efforts across the country, emphasizing the importance of understanding the nation’s mineral resources.

Highlighting the abundance of mineral deposits in areas like Eastern Province, Chief NDAKE emphasized the need for these resources to be tapped into for development.

His remarks were made during the launch of a Mining Study by Caritas Chipata, aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in mining activities within Lusangazi and Nyimba Districts.

And John Zulu, the Programmes Officer of Caritas Chipata Governance Unit, emphasized the importance of local communities benefiting from mining activities in their regions. He pledged Caritas’ commitment to promoting good governance in the mining sector.

Chief NDAKE’s call underscores the urgency of unlocking the potential of mineral resources for the socio-economic advancement of communities across Zambia.
