DRC Produces Over 8.4 Million Barrels of Crude Oil in 2022
Between two calendar years, oil production remained linear in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According to the compendium of statistical information from the Central Bank of Congo (BCC), the oil industries of the Democratic Republic of Congo produced only 8.4 million barrels of crude oil.
This production is stagnant compared to the year 2021 when the same source informs that the oil industries had produced the same volume of barrels of crude oil.
It should be noted that this production is still very low compared to the level of resources available to the country.
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) today produces less than 20,000 barrels of oil per day, which places the country in 70th place in the world, far behind its neighbors such as Angola, Congo-Brazzaville or Sud- Sudan.
The oil resources of the Democratic Republic of Congo are estimated at around 22 billion barrels.
Since July 2022, the country’s authorities have auctioned 30 oil and gas blocks in the hope of reviving the production of gas and oil in order to capture more revenue for the public treasury.
