Global Cobalt Prices Surge to $31,549.00 USD per Tonne
After almost a year of decline on the international markets, the cobalt market is again showing firmness, inform the specialists in the field.
According to projections made by experts from the National Commission of Mercurial Prices of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, cobalt should register a significant price increase on world markets during the period from July 10 to 15, 2023.
According to the figures put forward by Congolese government experts, cobalt should trade at 31,549.00 USD per tonne this week against 28,840.00 USD a week earlier, i.e. a positive price difference of around 2 $709.
The same source notes that two mining products exported from the DRC, namely tin and gold, should also experience a slight increase on international markets.
Tin is expected to trade at $28,036.25 this week from $27,958.00 per ton the previous week. Meanwhile, the price per gram of gold should rise to 62.42 USD this week from 62.33 USD a week earlier.
The other mining products, namely copper, zinc and tantalum, should rather register a drop in price on the international markets during the period considered.
As a result, a ton of copper would return to 8,265.70 USD compared to 8,445.85 USD last week.
As for zinc, it would be traded at 2,354.90 USD per ton against 2,368.85 USD per ton last week.
Tantalum kilogram would be trading at USD 330.00 from USD 335.00 a week earlier.
On the other hand, the price of silver ore should remain stable on the international markets at 0.75 USD per gram.
