Kibali Gold continued to dominate the Democratic Republic of Congo’s industrial gold sector, producing 11,894.30 kg of gold in the first half of 2026 and accounting for 87.6% of the country’s total industrial output.
The mine’s production helped lift the DRC’s industrial gold output to 13,581.11 kg during the first six months of 2026, a 12.1% increase from 12,112.50 kg recorded in the same period last year.
Kibali’s strong contribution was reflected in the significant increase in national production during the second quarter.
Industrial gold output rose to 7,716.72 kg from 5,864.39 kg in the first quarter, an increase of about 31.6%.
Bendera Mining Company was the second-largest producer during the period, with 1,241.30 kg, while Kundelungu Mining Company produced 352 kg.
Kibali Goldmines operates the Kibali mine in Watsa territory, Haut-Uélé Province, under a joint venture involving Barrick Mining Corporation, AngloGold Ashanti and state-owned Société Minière de Kilo-Moto (SOKIMO).
The mine has remained the DRC’s dominant industrial gold producer. In 2025, Kibali accounted for almost 99% of the country’s total industrial gold production, highlighting its importance to the national gold industry.
The latest figures further reinforce Kibali’s role as the principal driver of the DRC’s industrial gold production, even as output from other mining operations continues to expand.
