Wanyanga sector with a management body for the endowment of 0.3% of Alphamin Bisie Mining’s turnover- DRC

A specialized body in charge of managing the endowment of at least 0.3% of the turnover of Alphamin Bisie Mining, holder of the mining right, has just been set up in the Wanyanga sector in Walikale territory in North- Kivu.

This endowment will contribute to the community development project in accordance with the interministerial decree relating to the endowment of 0.3% of the turnover of companies holding mining rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The installation ceremony took place on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the headquarters of the Governorate of North Kivu in Goma, in the presence of the Minister of Mines, Antoinette N’Samba Kalambayi and the Provincial Military Governor, Lieutenant-General Constant Ndima.

In her speech, Antoinette N’samba Kalambayi praised the realization of this process, which is especially beneficial to the communities of the Walikale territory impacted by the fallout from the mining of resources generated in its traditional living environment.

In addition, the Military Governor of North Kivu, Lieutenant-General Constant Ndima Kongba, also welcomed the establishment of this management body in order to contribute to the well-being of its constituents established in the Bisie area.

It should be noted that the installation of the provincial mining cadastre service in North Kivu
as well as the operationalization of the National Service of Geological Studies are among the recommendations of the authority of this mining province.

As a reminder, an interministerial decree relating to the endowment of 0.3% of turnover made public on May 24, 2022 was signed by the Minister of Social Affairs, Modeste Mutinga, and that of Mines Antoinette N’Samba.

To this end, the endowment of 0.3% of the turnover of a mining company for the benefit of community development projects is an obligation set by the Congolese Government to any company holding a mining right in the country.
