SNEL brings the Bukanga-Lonzo substation back into service- DRC

The substation of the Bukanga-Lonzo agro-industrial park has been put back into service by the National Electricity Company (SNEL), announced the Minister of Water Resources and Electricity, Olivier Mwenze.

According to the communication services of the Ministry of Water Resources and Electricity, this project, which dates back several years, should serve the provinces of Kwango and Kwilu.

According to the supervising Minister, Olivier Mwenze, this work has been handed over to the manager pending the construction of the transmission lines.

“The construction of transmission lines is the next step to electrify Kenge town and surrounding towns,” he said.

Note that the Bukanga-Lonzo substation has a capacity of 56 megawatts from the Inga energy drawn from the Maluku-Bandundu power line.

Invited last February by the President of the National Assembly, the Director General of SNEL, Jean-Bosco Kayombo, provided important details on the electrification of the city of Kenge, capital of Kwango province.

Facing parliamentarians, Jean-Bosco Kayombo explained that the Bukanga-Lonzo substation should enable SNEL to bring electricity to the surrounding provinces, starting with Kwango.
