Finance Minister Musokotwane Highlights Surging Investor Interest at Indaba 2025

Zambia has emerged as a key attraction for global investors at the ongoing Investing in African Mining Indaba in Cape Town. Finance and National Planning Minister Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane stated that the country’s rich mineral resources have made the Zambian delegation one of the busiest at the event, with investors actively seeking opportunities in the mining sector.

Dr. Musokotwane attributed this heightened interest to the New Dawn Government’s investor-friendly policies, as well as Zambia’s long-standing peace and stability.

He highlighted that the government holds valuable mining assets that have drawn significant attention, with several investors expressing interest in exploration and mining projects.

He further noted that some existing investors in Zambia are looking to expand their operations, particularly in critical minerals and mineral diversification.

Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Paul Kabuswe emphasized the importance of African collaboration in unlocking the continent’s vast natural resources.

He stressed that the Mining Indaba provides a vital platform for fostering trade and investment partnerships, aligning with President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision of strengthening intra-African trade.

The 2025 Mining Indaba has attracted over 8,000 delegates, 1,200 investors, and 700 mining companies from more than 100 countries, reinforcing its status as a premier event for the global mining industry.
