DRC Forum Advances Mining Revenue Forecasts and Macroeconomic Planning
Kinshasa Forum Strengthens Mining Revenue Forecasts and Economic Framework in DRC
Kinshasa hosted a high-level forum from Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Pullman Tent, focused on refining and strengthening the macroeconomic framework by incorporating budget revenue forecasts from the extractive sector.
As a member of the panel, National Minister of Mines Louis Watum Kabamba spoke on “The Strategic Importance of Financial Modelling to Strengthen the Supervision and Regulation of the Mining Sector: The Challenge of Transmitting Certified and Verified Data to the Core of Extractive Revenue Forecasts of the CPCM.”
He emphasized the need for equitable sharing of mining profits, strict compliance with national laws and standards, and reciprocal obligations between the state and investors. He also highlighted initiatives aimed at preserving and stimulating investment in post-mining activities.
Minister Kabamba welcomed the forum, noting that its conclusions would contribute to strengthening institutional coordination, improving the reliability of extractive revenue projections, and supporting budget planning aligned with national development ambitions.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, to make the mining sector a key driver of national development.
The forum, which concluded on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, had been officially launched by Minister of State and Minister of Planning and Coordination of Development Aid, Guylain Nyembo.
It brought together public decision-makers, national and international financial institutions, sectoral administrations, representatives of mining companies, and technical partners involved in the governance and planning of revenues from natural resources.
