ARSP Director Praises Diplomacy Behind New DRC–Rwanda Agreement
DRC–Rwanda Peace and Economic Agreement Welcomed by ARSP Director Miguel Kashal
Miguel Kashal, Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP), followed from his office the ceremony marking the ratification of the recent peace and economic agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.
On this occasion, he commended what he described as the active diplomacy of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, which, according to him, helped pave the way for a new phase of dialogue between Kinshasa and Kigali after decades of conflict in eastern DRC. Kashal referred to the signing as a “historic step,” noting that it was supported by international partners.
“After more than 30 years of conflict, the Head of State has brought hope back to millions of Congolese people, both in the country and abroad. We can only welcome this achievement and look forward to the opportunities it may create. Peace is the foundation on which economic development must be built,” Kashal said.
He stressed that the agreement goes beyond security concerns and also opens the door to economic cooperation.
“It is now up to us to position ourselves so we can benefit from this new stage of regional collaboration. I invite Congolese entrepreneurs and companies to support the Head of State’s vision for national development,” he added.
Kashal also congratulated the government for its efforts and called on the population to continue backing national initiatives that seek stability and economic progress.
“When the DRC advances, all of Africa moves forward,” the ARSP Director concluded.
