AVZ Minerals to increase stake in Manono project in the DRC

Mineral exploration company AVZ Minerals has revealed that it will boost its equity stake in the Manono lithium/tin project, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to 75% in a $15.5-million share sale purchase agreement. The ASX-listed company will buy an additional 10% equity stake in the project from its joint venture partner, Dathomir Mining. Alphamine produced 2,739 tonnes of tin in Q2 2020, up by 29% from Q1 | DRC

Mining company Alphamine produced 2,739 tonnes of tin in Bisié, North Kivu province, in the second quarter of 2020, exceeding its expected forecast of 2,400 to 2,600 tonnes, Agence Ecofin reports, citing Alphamin Resources, the company active on the project.  This production volume is up 29% compared to the first quarter of 2020, according to the mining company, which explains this performance by the increase in the volumes of ores mined and higher grades.
