The DRC industrialization master plan amounts to 58.4 billion USD – Julien Paluku

The Industrialization Master Plan for the Democratic Republic of Congo amounts to 58.4 billion US dollars (USD). This was stated by the Congolese Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, in the various panels and “B2B” of the 4th German-African Business Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa (RSA).

In front of the German Vice-Chancellor, the Ministers of Economy, Trade and Climate as well as the management staff of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry headed by Peter Adrian,
investors the different opportunities that offers the DRC in various fields including that of the electric battery industry with a pan-African vocation, and the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZ).

The Congolese Minister of Industry has also called on these investors to come and create a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to develop the automotive industry in particular.

“I offer German investors the opportunity recommended to me by the Head of State, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, to tell the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry that the President of the Republic wishes to provide Germany of a ZES, dedicated to Germanic entrepreneurship so that its companies come to develop industrial activities there. “, he underlined.

It should be noted that several other Congolese authorities take part in these meetings which aim to promote economic relations between Africa and Germany. These include the DRC Ambassador to South Africa, Fidèle Mulaja Binene, the management team of the General Directorate of Industrial Development Corridors (DGCDI) made up of its Director General, Judée Badibanga Kabongo, and the Deputy Director General, Gilbert Kabwe Kazadi, as well as Professor Anselme Kithakya, representative within the DGCDI.
