AngloGold CEO Appointed New Chairman of the World Gold Council
The World Gold Council announced on Monday the appointment of Kelvin Dushnisky, CEO of AngloGold Ashanti, as the new chairman. Dushnisky succeeds David Harquail, who has served as Chairman since 2017.

He is also a member of the International Advisory Board of the Shanghai Gold Exchange, the Accenture Global Mining Executive Council, member and chief business adviser of the Institute of Business Advisers in Southern Africa and the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa.
Dushnisky commented on his most recent position at WGC as follows: “David Harquail was an excellent chairman of the World Gold Council. During his tenure, he helped introduce the new governance model for the organization, which has led to increased participation and involvement of members. “
“I think the World Gold Council has never been as strong and influential as it is today, and I look forward to continuing the work of the World Gold Council,” he added.
David Tait, CE of the World Gold Council, added that the appointment of Dushnisky would bring “a wealth of knowledge and industry experience that will be of great benefit to our work to gain greater recognition of gold as an important asset and all enable to help stakeholders.” Understand the tremendous contribution that this industry makes in terms of improving people’s lives. “
