DRC: AfDB interested in the execution of the deep water port of Banana and Inga 3
The Congolese Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, received in audience, on Friday September 3, 2021, in his office at the Prime Minister’s office, a delegation from the African Development Bank (ADB), led by Serge Marie N’guessan , Managing Director of this financial institution.
This delegation came not only to present the main conclusions of the mission carried out over three days in Kinshasa, but also to inform the Head of Government of various projects that the ADB intends to carry out as soon as possible in the DRC.
The delegation received guidance from Prime Minister Sama Lukonde, ADB Director General told reporters.
” We were received in audience by His Excellency the Prime Minister to take stock of the three days of dialogue mission that the delegation of the African Development Bank (ADB) that I am leading, carried out here in Kinshasa. We presented the results of this mission to the Prime Minister and we received his guidelines. I first, on behalf of the African Development Bank, on behalf of its President, Dr Adesina, congratulated the Prime Minister on his appointment to this strategic and very important post. This nomination was well received by the African Development Bank, because the Democratic Republic of Congo is a big country for the Bank. And with this appointment, we felt a renewal in the conduct of public affairs,the conduct of the economy of this country and especially the relations between the DRC and the international community “, he said.
In addition, the ADB welcomes the relaunch of the program between the DRC and the Breton Woods institutions, more particularly, with the IMF for the consolidation of its macroeconomic framework.
“ We presented the main conclusions of the mission which addressed several aspects of our cooperation, from support to reforms. Here too, we congratulated the Government on the conclusion of the program with the International Monetary Fund. Which program will allow the country to consolidate its macroeconomic indicators and above all facilitate economic recovery, ”said Serge Marie N’guessan.
It also emerges from this exchange with the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, that the ADB has major projects to carry out in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and intends to do everything possible for their rapid execution.
