As of July 27, the Federation of Congo Enterprises (FEC) will total half a century, so 50 years. To this end, a series of activities are planned, the focus of which will be the celebration of this anniversary both in Kinshasa and in certain provincial groups.

For the head of the FEC, these activities aim to consolidate relations with members and attract new affiliates.

It is also an opportunity to celebrate the Congolese private sector, by highlighting these “champion” companies which, over the years, continue to show resilience and contribute to the country’s economic growth.

Note that the FEC will award a special “50th anniversary” prize to one of its SMEs. This, within the framework of the Challenge Entreprise which is an activity organized by the FEC in collaboration with the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and SMEs.

The President of the FEC did not fail to pay tribute to the many personalities who have marked the history of the FEC and contributed to the socio-economic development of the DRC.

Among these personalities, some have already left this world. This is the case of Gilbert Tshiongo, President of ANEZA (at the time) from 1979 to 1981; Raymond Mokeni, Patriarch and Provincial President of FEC Tshopo as well as William Damseaux.

Recall that the Federation of Enterprises of Congo (FEC) forms both the chamber of commerce and industry and the main employers’ organization of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Former National Association of Businesses of Zaire (ANEZA), it was created in 1972 from the merger of the Federation of Provincial Associations of Businesses of Zaire (FERZA), the National Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture ( FNCCIA) and the Association for the Promotion and Defense of the Interests of Congolese Traders (APRODECO).

Renamed the Fédération des entreprises du Congo when the country changed its name in May 1997, it currently represents more than 2,500 companies (therefore members) from all sectors of the Congolese economy.

Albert Yuma took this opportunity to exchange greetings to make a diagnosis of the country’s macroeconomic framework and also to project prospects after this fiftieth anniversary of the FEC’s existence.
