DRC Generates 1.104 billion USD Gold exports at the end of 2022
In total more than 28,306.26 kilograms of gold were exported from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in 2022, informs the annual report of the Ministry of Mines.
According to this same document, the 28,306.26 kilograms of gold exported on Congolese soil generated revenues of 1.104 billion US dollars during the period evaluated.
Regarding exports of industrial exploitation of unrefined gold, they are dominated by KibaIi Gold with 99.83% and MCCR with 0.17%. The quantity exported by MCCR is marginal.
Artisanal exports of gold during this period are estimated at 42.25 kilograms generating a total amount of 1 billion 592 million 809 thousand 58 cents.
During the year 2022, the majority of gold from artisanal mining was produced in the province of South Kivu with an estimated volume of 18.56 Kg or 43.93% followed by the province of Tshopo with 12.31 (29.14%); the city of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo comes in third position with a production estimated at 4.22 kg or 9.99% of the total produced; Tanganyika with 3.19 kg or 7.55%; the province of North Kivu with 1.39 Kg or 3.29% and the province of Ituri closes this ranking with 2.58 Kg of total production during the year 2022.
