DRC Diamond Exports Reach $145.9M by End of 2022.

Diamond exports from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) generated more than $145.9 million throughout 2022. This is shown by the statistical data published by the Ministry of Mines.

According to this 2022 annual report, diamond exports to the Democratic Republic of Congo amounted to 11,683,439.31 million carats.

The same source informs that diamond production in the Democratic Republic of Congo remained dominated, during the period under analysis, by artisanal production with more than 7,353,996.44 million carats, generating a total amount of 83.7 million USD.

Artisanal diamond mining exports by counter in 2022 are dominated by MIABI with 37.34% followed by AMAZONA with 25.40%, MALABAR with 20.19% and SAGA with 17.07% in quantity.

The industrial production recorded during the year 2022 is 4,322,747.97 million carats with revenues amounting to 62.3 million US dollars.

Exports of industrially mined diamonds are dominated by SACIM throughout 2022.

The KABE company started its export in the month of October 2022 with a marginal quantity of 0.09%.

During the year 2022, diamond exports by country of destination are represented as follows:
United Arab Emirates with 50.04% followed by Belgium EU with 46.34% followed by India with 3.58% followed by Israel with 0.03%, Canada with 0.003% and USA with 0.001% in quantity.
