PURPOSE Responsible for scheduling employees for Occupational Health Medicals and act as a liaison between the Business Units and clinical staff with regards to Occupational Health scheduling and also play a vital role in engaging employees by designing and implementing dynamic internal campaigns that reflect the values and core business of the organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ENGAGEMENT
  • Responsible for developing an effective workforce engagement strategy/policy/plan
  • Responsible for the designing, delivery and evaluation of the workforce engagement strategy in line with the core business targets.
  • Ensuring that effective employee engagement tools are developed, implemented, maintained and evaluated for effectiveness.
  • Establish achievable employee engagement targets and benchmarks through which workforce improvements can be done.
  • Participate and take the lead on specific engagement projects as directed by the Human Resources Manager.
  • Develop new and innovative ways to engage with employees including seeking and acting on their feedback to identify the most effective approaches.
  • To provide approachable and professional support to employees on all employment matters that may be impacting their work
  • Assess organizational climate by sending out annual Employee Surveys to all employees and to collate responses and develop an action plan for workplace improvement
  • Take a lead role in developing consistent approaches to all internal communications
  • Develop programmes designed to improve the quality of life of staff members in conjunction with Wellness Center
WELLNESS
  • Providing consistent guidance on the management of sick leave provisions in line with Company Policies and existing Labour laws
  • Reviewing and managing all work capacity and silicosis certificates upon receipt from Occupational Health.
  • Provide constant feedback on employee health related conditions in line with occupational health guidelines.
  • Liaising with Occupational Health department on all employee health related issues such as tracking of attendance, medical appointments and sick leave.
  • In conjunction with occupational health department, ensuring that all employees attend periodic medicals on scheduled times.
  • Keeping track of all employee medical related data and provide weekly reports to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Facilitating the development of educational materials on occupational health in liaison with occupational health department.
  • Act as liaison between various business units and Kansanshi Mine Hospital on all occupational health related matters
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Degree in Human Resources/ Industrial Psychology or any related qualification.
  • Member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZHIRM)
  • A good knowledge of Zambian labor laws is a pre-requisite.
EXPERIENCE
  • 3 – 5 Years practical work experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to keep high levels of confidentiality
  • Computer literate with high proficiency in Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint
