Mines in DRC contributed USD 482.1 million to the Treasury in the first half of 2020
Ministry of Finance publishes revenues from the natural resource sectors as part of the DRC’s commitment to transparency in public finance management.
According to data provided by the Ministry of Finance, mining operations in the DRC brought in to the Treasury 482.111 million USD in the first half of 2020, or 201.714 million USD in the first quarter and 280.396 million in the second quarter.
Overall, the natural resources sectors contributed to the treasury with $ 544.381 million in duties, taxes and levies collected on mining, hydrocarbon and forestry operations, during the first two quarters of 2020, indicates the report of the Ministry of Mines.
With a contribution of 482.111 million USD to the state budget against 60.021 million USD for hydrocarbons and 2.248 million USD for forests, revenues from mining represent 88.6% of revenues from natural resource sectors.
