Andrada Mining Secures $2.5M Loan to Boost Tin Production at Uis Mine

Andrada Mining, a tin producer with a portfolio of critical raw materials projects in Namibia, has secured a $2.5 million loan from LC Abelheim, acting as a trustee of the Orange Trust—Andrada’s largest shareholder.

The funding will support the construction of a second 100 t/h tin processing jig plant at the company’s flagship Uis mine. This facility will include a three-stage primary crushing and screening circuit, a jigging section, and shaking tables, enabling the processing of a wider range of tin ore grades.

To fast-track its tin expansion strategy, Andrada’s management opted for this shareholder loan as the most efficient funding mechanism.

The loan provides speed and flexibility, allowing for the rapid construction of the new plant. This will significantly boost tin production by processing stockpiled material from pegmatites at Uis, as well as higher-grade ore from regional mines.

“This strategic investment underscores our confidence in Namibia’s abundant tin resources, particularly within the Uis mining license,” said Andrada CEO Anthony Viljoen. “We anticipate a rise in tin demand this year. With Andrada’s established position in the global tin supply chain, this creates a unique competitive advantage for the company.”

Viljoen added that the new plant will offer a modular expansion pathway, allowing Andrada to scale up operations without disrupting current mining activities. It will also support the company’s broader strategy of enhancing tantalum and lithium revenues.

Additionally, this expansion will enable Andrada to explore and develop high-grade orebodies across the Erongo region. By integrating increased tin output with its polymetallic resource potential, the company aims to strengthen cash flow and improve profit margins.
