DRC Mining Week 2026: A Key Platform for Investment and Growth in Africa’s Mining Sector
The countdown has begun for DRC Mining Week 2026, one of Africa’s premier mining events, scheduled to take place from June 17 to 19, 2026, at the Karavia Hotel in Lubumbashi, Haut-Katanga Province.
The three-day forum will bring together policymakers, investors, mining companies, technology providers, financial institutions, and industry experts to discuss the key challenges and emerging opportunities shaping the Democratic Republic of Congo’s mining sector.
Activities will commence on June 16 with a pre-conference Energy Investment Forum, which will explore the critical relationship between the global mining industry and the DRC’s vast natural resource potential.
Sponsored by Vodacom, the forum will highlight the pivotal role of energy infrastructure in supporting mining operations and driving industrial development.
The official opening ceremony on June 17 is expected to feature several prominent speakers, including Minister of Mines Louis Watum Kabamba, representatives from Gécamines, Standard Bank, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the Federation of Enterprises of Congo (FEC), and the Governor of Haut-Katanga Province.
This year’s edition will feature a series of high-level events designed to foster investment, leadership, and value addition across the mining sector.
These include the Women in Mining & Leadership Forum, the CEO Roundtable, the Value Chain Investment Forum, and Industry Plus.
Participants will also have access to dedicated B2B networking sessions aimed at connecting mining operators in the DRC with international investors, technical partners, infrastructure developers, and service providers.
In addition, more than 300 international exhibitors will showcase the latest advancements in mining technology, engineering solutions, digital transformation, and specialized services for the extractive industry.
As the DRC continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in strategic minerals including copper, cobalt, and lithium DRC Mining Week 2026 is expected to serve as a vital platform for investment promotion, partnership development, and the advancement of the country’s mining industry.
